Job Description

Grohney AAA LLP is seeking an experienced IFRS Advisory Consultant to join our Accounting Advisory team. In this role, you will provide specialized guidance on complex accounting matters, IFRS implementation, and financial reporting to clients across various industries. You will help clients navigate accounting changes, prepare for new standards, and resolve technical accounting issues. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of IFRS, experience in advisory services, and excellent communication skills to explain complex accounting concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

- Provide technical accounting advice and solutions for complex IFRS implementation issues
- Assist clients with the adoption of new IFRS standards
- Prepare technical accounting papers and memoranda
- Review financial statements for IFRS compliance
- Conduct IFRS impact assessments and gap analyses
- Develop accounting policies and procedures
- Train client staff on IFRS requirements and updates
- Support financial reporting and disclosure processes
- Assist with accounting for complex transactions (M&A, restructuring, etc.)
- Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and interpretations

Requirements

- 5-8 years of experience in IFRS advisory, technical accounting, or similar roles
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS standards and interpretations
- Experience with IFRS implementation and transition projects
- Ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues
- Experience advising clients across multiple industries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-technical audiences
- Project management experience
- Client relationship management skills
- Experience with financial reporting tools and systems

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA (Kenya) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- IFRS certification or specialized training
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
